Our story
It all begins with an idea. For us, it was a love of our little town combined with a desire to make it a little bit better. Our story of Belle Mercantile started in 2017 with a business plan and progressed to 2 years of renovations in 2018 to early 2020. The marketplace opened in 2020 during covid. What can we say? Starting a business during covid definitely builds character and tenacity!
The most fulfilling aspect of operating Belle Mercantile is seeing its growth, month after month and now, year after year. We have grown in so many ways since we took a chance on an idea. We appreciate every one of our vendors and our customers.

We are located in the beautiful Historic town of Bellefonte, Penna. Bellefonte is home to 5 Governers since its founding in 1795 and it is one of the earliest towns to produce electricity in 1883. Bellefonte is a gem to visit - it is rich in history, beauty and recreation. We would love to see you and welcome you to our beautiful town!
